Profile:  Brunel Students make a clean sweep in bpma Design Innovation Awards

First Year Design students of Brunel have made a clean sweep after taking part in the bpma Design Innovation Awards. The competition, their first nationwide student design award, invited talented, UK based undergraduate design students to come up with exciting and original new product ideas for promotional merchandise. The competition was sponsored by 3M, who are experts in creating new and inspiring products.

Brunel students proved that they were creative thinkers with flair and imagination, producing some ground-breaking new promotion product ideas. The competition was won in the end by Andrea Pisa and her Zip Secure lock which highlighted the importance of reducing the risk of pick pockets in busy areas.

The competition challenged the first year students to produce work to a professional standard. This experience has allowed the students to experience working with live briefs from industry for the first time and, hopefully, prepared them for future collaborations with leading industry names.
